Farewell 2014-- Happy New Year!

"i have chosen to be happy because
it is good for my health.

- Voltaire

When we discuss the figures and the numbers involved in a health epidemic such as breast cancer, often times we forget the person behind the numbers. Let us not forget that these individuals are more than just the color pink, more than just a ribbon - they are human. These are the true faces of breast cancer. They are your friends, your neighbors, your mother, your daughter, your brother, your son, your spouse, your love. They are the ones with stories yet to be told, the ones with life yet to be lived, with love yet to experienced, and with joys yet to be found.
This holiday season, we ask that you see these faces and give a monetary gift that will help The Pink Ribbon Place provide direct services to the men and women in our community. It is our hope that with your contribution, in 2014, we will be once again be able to provide diagnostic services to the uninsured and under-insured men and women under the age of 40 with breast health concerns. Please donate by clicking the image of the tree below.

I wish everyone a very happy and fulfilling holiday season, and we look forward to serving you and our community in the new year.                                              - With Love, Anna

Dear Friend,
The end of the year is upon us again and I’d like to wish you a happy and joyous holiday season from everyone at Riverside Community Health Foundation.
This time of year gives us the opportunity to stop and reflect on the past 12 months and mission-focused work we’ve done. At RCHF, we remain committed to building happy and healthy communities by providing access to quality health education and services. In 2013, we’ve continued to expand that commitment by taking on new and exciting projects.
As many of you may know, in October of this year we became the new operators of The Pink Ribbon Place, Riverside’s first – and only – breast cancer resource center. We knew we could not let this vital resource close and leave women in our community like Nichole and Katherine, who you can learn more by clicking here, with nowhere to turn during one of the most difficult struggles of their lives. We are both honored and excited to work with these women and the many other families who benefit from the services of The Pink Ribbon Place. We hope you’ll join us in this effort by giving today.
RCHF is determined to maximize the services offered to both women and men battling breast cancer in Riverside, but we need your help to expand the programs offered at the center. It is my hope that in 2014 the center will once again be able to provide diagnostic services to women under 40.
You can be confident that 100 percent of the donation you make today will go directly to providing services. You can also be confident that your donation will be leveraged with our resources to extend your dollars and become part of a legacy of creating a healthy Riverside. Every dollar counts!
I want to sincerely thank you for your consideration and support. Together, we’ve accomplished so much since opening our doors in 1997. I look forward to all we will accomplish in 2014.
Wishing you all the best this holiday season,
Dr. Dan Anderson, President/CEO RCHF
PS- Your donation today is tax-deductible. RCHF is a registered 501 (C) (3) nonprofit.
Our tax id number is 23-7276444.

If only for a second...

20 cancer patients participated in a unique makeover experience. They were invited to a studio. Their hair and makeup were completely redone. During the transformation, they were asked to keep their eyes shut.A photographer then immortalized the moment they opened their eyes.

This discovery allowed them to forget their illness, IF ONLY FOR A SECOND.
